Fear of public speaking is one of the most common fears and phobias. It’s said that even the most experienced public speakers admit to getting nervous before a speaking event but for some people the fear becomes overwhelming and too great for them to be able to do it, avoiding the situation and potentially blocking progress both professionally and personally.

As with all anxiety problems, simply “snapping out of it” is not an option.

As a form of performance anxiety the fear of public speaking can be from a very young age or occur later in life or may be associated with social anxiety and can present with the same physical symptoms as other forms of anxiety-related issues such as confusion, dizziness, lightheadedness, difficulty breathing, heart palpitations, sweating etc.
